Usage Note 32696: PROC INFOMAPS fails with an exception when attempting to access data
PROC INFOMAPS code fails under the following conditions:
- an unrestricted user is used to connect to the metadata server.
- at least one INSERT DATAITEM statement contains an EXPRESSION.
Here is an example of the error message that appears.
com.sas.iquery.dataservices.DataServicesException: <<SALES.Purchases>> -
<<SALES.Returns>> is invalid and cannot be used in a query.
[ com.sas.iquery.dataretrieval.DataRetrievalException: Exception occurred while attempting to
access data. [ com.sas.iquery.dataretrieval.DataRetrievalException: Exception occurred when
retrieving the ResultSet. [ com.sas.iquery.dataretrieval.DataRetrievalException: Unable to
execute query. [ com.sas.iquery.execution2.ExecutionException: Exception thrown while attempting
to access server
There are two workarounds for this issue:
- Connect to the metadata server by using the credentials of a user who is not unrestricted.
- Add the following setting to the -JREOPTIONS in the sasv9.cfg file that your workspace server is using.
Note: In order to use -DProcInfoMaps.Verify=NO
, you must install the hot fix from the Hot Fix tab in SAS Note 30898.
